Hedera helix (English Ivy) - 15cm

Hedera helix (English Ivy) is a hardy, evergreen climbing or trailing plant with glossy, lobed green leaves that sometimes show creamy variegation in cultivated varieties. It clings to surfaces using aerial rootlets, making it ideal for covering walls, fences, and trellises, or as groundcover. Thriving in full sun to full shade, it prefers moist, well-drained soil, though it tolerates a wide range of conditions and is fairly drought-tolerant once established. Small clusters of greenish-yellow flowers appear in autumn, followed by black berries that attract birds. Vigorous and low-maintenance, it should be pruned to keep it neat and prevent it from becoming invasive.
